Connecting with people and helping them gain clarity and achieve their goals has always been a passion of Emily’s. Before becoming a coach in January 2016, she spent 12 years practicing law as a business lawyer and litigator. She was doing great work and was on track to becoming a partner and progressing in her legal career but it didn’t fulfill her and she felt out of place. Emily knew she wanted a change but had no idea where to start or what to do. She began getting physically sick from the stress, frustration and exhaustion. She needed help and decided to hire a coach.
Emily says it was like she’d been holding a key but had no idea which door it opened. Her coach helped her find the door, turn the key and open it. Specifically, Emily’s coach helped her understand how to find a career that better aligned with her unique talents and strengths. The coach also helped Emily to identify her core values and personal definition of success. Emily fell in love with the coaching process and realized that her best moments as a lawyer had nothing to do with the law; they were when she mentored and coached her friends and colleagues on career challenges and goals.
Emily views the coaching process as a partnership. Through proven methods of coaching, she helps clients increase their self awareness, set and achieve goals, build a personal brand, enhance leadership and communication skills, optimize performance, and manage their time. She brings to coaching sessions her genuine interest in people, curiosity and energetic nature. Emily feels so fortunate to work with clients and to help them to find the door that their key opens, and help them take their next steps toward their future.
Emily graduated from Miami University with a B.A. and The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law with a J.D. She obtained her coaching certification through the World Coach Institute (ICF accredited) and is certified in The Birkman Method. Emily lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband, 2 kids and 3 dogs.
