As the owner, CEO and leadership coach at Crosworks, Shelly uses her extensive executive leadership and coaching expertise to help clients define and target their best-fit jobs. She leads the Crosworks team in guiding clients to success through proven processes that bring clarity and focus to their job search by defining each individual’s strengths, interests, skills and work environment. With clear career goals, she counsels clients to effective and consistent messaging in order to market to best-fit opportunities, delivering both personal fulfillment and maximum results.
Shelly used Crosworks in her own career transition several years ago. In working with the company, she came to believe in the Crosworks’ processes so completely that she decided to acquire the business. It was a natural career move for her: peers, friends and family have come to Shelly since her college days for sound, constructive, and objective career advice. Throughout her career, Shelly put the highest priority in guiding her employees into roles where they could best succeed and find the greatest satisfaction. Colleagues frequently sought her counsel in making career moves of their own. Taking the helm of Crosworks simply formalized and focused the coaching work she did informally for years.
Shelly’s extensive experiences across business disciplines in companies big and small give her deep knowledge of the working world and a unique perspective that is rare among career coaches. She is known as an innovative, entrepreneurial and forward-thinking strategist who puts people first. She is recognized for visionary leadership and game-changing business solutions that grow market presence while establishing a culture that respects the contributions of each individual.
Prior to acquiring Crosworks, Shelly was head of the residential solar division at IGS, a division that she launched. There, she created multi-channel brand marketing strategies and built a high-performing and cohesive team that established the division’s entire operating infrastructure. She also ran a consulting practice, serving a variety of established corporations as well as startups, providing strategic business planning, executive leadership coaching and operations analysis. At Highlights for Children, she served as chief operating officer and chief marketing officer, appointed by the company’s CEO to drive a financial turn-around and rebranding of a decades-old magazine. There, she led a team of executives and more than 100 indirect reports across business development, marketing, e-commerce, social media, analytics, operations, brand communications and strategic planning.
Shelly earned an MBA from the University of Dayton and a BS in business operations from DeVry University.
Deeply committed to giving back, Shelly serves on the governance board of the Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana region and is the co-chair of Leadership Worthington. She also served on the board of the Worthington Resource Pantry, was an early supporter of CoolTechGirls in Dublin, and founded the Girls on the Run program at Evening Street Elementary School in Worthington.
